TRAVELLING TO BUDAPEST
By airplane
International flights arrive to the Liszt Ferenc International Airport, which is located next to Budapest. You can easily reach the city center from the airport by public transport.
By bus
International buses arrive to the Népliget Bus Station. Passangers can reach the city center easily by taking Metro line 3.
By train
International trains arrive to the Budapest Keleti (Eastern), Budapest Déli (Southern) or Budapest Nyugati (Western) railway stations. Each station is located in the city center, with several connections to different lines of the public transport.
HOW TO REACH THE CONFERENCE VENUE
Novotel Budapest City Hotel, the conference venue is located at the Buda part of the city (please see the respective Google map).
Budapest has a well organized public transport service. In the downtown and in the more central parts of the city the public transport is the best way to reach a destination. Single tickets and several types of daily tickets are available. Another option is to buy a 7-day travelcard for less than 20 EUR, which you can use for unlimited number of trips within the administrative boundaries of Budapest.
From the airport
Taxi and mini bus shuttle services are available from the airport.
Public transport:
1) Take bus No. 100E to the 'Deák Ferenc tér (=square)' (a special ticket needs to be purchased for this bus) then change to Metro line 2. Take off at the ‘Széll Kálmán tér’ (also called Moscow square) and change to the tram No. 61 in the direction of ‘Móricz Zsigmond körtér (=circus )’. Take off at the ‘Csörsz utca’ (=street) station and walk for ca 60 m to the hotel.
2) Take bus No. 200E to Kőbánya-Kispest station (general bus tickets and daily tickets are valid for this line). Take Metro line 3 until the ‘Deák Ferenc tér (=square)’ station. Take off and change to the Metro line 2 to the direction of ‘Déli pályaudvar (= railway station)’. Take off at the ‘Széll Kálmán tér’ and change to the tram No. 61 in the direction of ‘Móricz Zsigmond körtér (=circus)’. Take off at the ‘Csörsz utca (=street)’ and walk for ca 60 m to the hotel.
From Népliget bus station
Taxi service is available.
Public transport: Take Metro line 3 to the direction of ‘Újpest’. Take off the ‘Deák Ferenc tér (=square)’ station and change to the Metro line 2 to the direction of ‘Déli pályaudvar (= train station)’. Take off at the ‘Széll Kálmán tér (=square)’ and change to the tram 61 in the direction of ‘Móricz Zsigmond körtér (=circus)’. Take off at the ‘Csörsz utca (=street)’ and walk for ca 60 m to the hotel.
From Keleti (Eastern) train terminal
Taxi service is available.
Public transport: Take Metro line 2 to the direction of ‘Déli pályaudvar (=railway station)’. Take off at the ‘Széll Kálmán tér (=square)’ and change to the tram 61 in the direction of ‘Móricz Zsigmond körtér (=circus)’. Take off at the ‘Csörsz utca (=street)’ and walk for ca 60 m to the hotel.
From Nyugati (Western) train terminal
Taxi service is available.
Public transport: Take tram 4 or 6 to the direction of ‘Széll Kálmán tér (=square)’. Take off at the end station and change to the tram 61 in the direction of ‘Móricz Zsigmond körtér (=circus)’. Take off at the ‘Csörsz utca (=street)’ and walk for ca 60 m to the hotel.
From Déli (Southern) train terminal
